Nike Mercurial Lite Shinguard Review

This is Nike`s entry level Mercurial shin guard. It is a lightweight, solid shin guard, that for the price, is a fantastic value. You get a hard plastic shell, backed by a thicker hard foam. The backing is a real winner for me, as it provides a nice amount of protection upon getting hit and also does not absorb water at all. You can take the shin guard off of your shin after using it, hold it in your hand and watch the little bit of sweat evaporate in around a minute, leaving you with a dry shin guard that`s ready to go. These are smaller fitting shin guards, so they do not cover a lot of your shin, but the part that they do cover will be greatly protected. I wore a size large for review.

As an overall package, for $20, you get a pair of sleeves as well as the shin guards. The sleeves are not the best, but no sleeves are ever all that effective. If you want a lightweight, smaller but still somewhat protective shin guard, these are what you are looking for.

  1. How do these compare fit/comfort wise to the Nike Mercurial Lightspeed shin guards?

  2. I wear a size M Nike J Guard. What size would you suggest for the mercurial lite? Thanks
