While there were a bunch of football boots that I really wanted but couldn’t afford back in 2006, at the top of that list was the Diadora Maximus! With it’s very unique kangaroo leather upper, and spring loaded studs, it seemed like the perfect pair of football boots. The closest I ever got was trying them on at the store. 20 years later, I’m finally getting to try them!
In today’s video we take a closer look at the limited edition, Diadora Maximus X Elite Italy, the 20th anniversary remake of the boots we all remember on the feet of Francesco Totti, when Italy lifted the World Cup all the way back in 2006! Of course, they’re not exactly like the OGs, but in terms of delivering the same look and feel, I’d argue that they come pretty close. After a very long wait, I finally got the chance to test them for myself, and I have some thoughts. Are they everything 13 year old me hyped them up to be? We discuss the good, the bad, and ultimately whether or not these are worth the $280 asking price in 2026. Anyone have a pair of these back in the day?
