We expect great value for money from a pro tier takedown model. And given that so many of them are closer to $200 than $100, for what they cost, they better be good. What we don’t expect though, is for the Pro option to be better than the Elites! Especially when the boots you’re comparing them too are genuinely some of the best on the market!
In today’s video we take a closer look at the Nike Tiempo Ligera Pro, the $160 option that sits below the $260 Tiempo Maestro Elite, that also shares Nike’s new Tech Leather synthetic upper. Having said that, despite the upper technically being made from the same material as the Elites, the overall design and construction of the Ligeras is entirely different, and way more traditional. Which I realize might not appeal to everyone, but when you factor in how these changes impact the fit, feel and weight of these boots, especially for what they cost, it calls into question why you’d spend more money on anything! We discuss the good, the few things I would have done differently, how the Ligera Pro compares to Maestro Elite and why I think they’re easily the best value for money football boots available in 2026!
