Nike Mercurial Lightspeed Review
The Nike Mercurial Lightspeed is the step up shin guard from the Nike Mercurial Lites. They will cost you more than double, at $50, but you are getting a very high quality product. The shin guard is made of the hardest plastice shell that I have ever seen on a shin guard. It so stiff that you can barely bend it at all when trying to bend it in your hands. The backing is also different from the Mercurial Lites, as it uses the same hard foam, but a thinner layer, covered by a thin mesh layer. The mesh feels a little bit better on your shin than just the foam and also provides a little bit more grip from sliding on your shin.
These guards are also a smaller lightweight weight shin guard, and are slightly lighter then the Mercurial Lites. Should you get kicked in the shin, these gurads will no doubt protect you from impact, as they are so well constructed. The package includes a pair of sleeves as well as the shin guards, which seems like not very much for the price, but you do get what you pay for. The quality is unbelievable, and the protection they orivide is great. They do cost a little more, but you will not regeret paying the little bit extra for a fantstic guard that will last for many seasons to come.
