Puma evoPOWER 1.2 Camo

by

Puma launches the next generation of evoPOWER 1.2 in the form of a limited edition boot (580 Pair Worldwide). The new evoPOWER 1.2 features a redesigned AccuFoam upper with the signature everfit reinforcement. The upper also has a GripTex coating to aid in wet weather play. The soleplate and stud pattern remain unchanged from the previous model. I will be posting the video and review shortly.

  1. Hey Josh, my physio has advised for me to wear boots with a stiff soleplate for support due to an injury, what boots can you recommend? I do prefer leather boots although I’m aware they are rarely the stiffest boots however on a sidenote what are some of the stiffer leather boots as well. Thanks for all of your extensive content it is a godsend keep up the good work

    • Nothing jumps out at me as being particularly stiff, but there are leather shoes with thicker than average soleplates. The Copa Mundial and Mizuno Morelia Pro come to mind.

      • I know its trivial but i have tried the copa and found it to be odd for a couple of reasons and not something i like the sensation of. When trying on instore the hypeervenom phantom seemed like a rock which I’m sure fits the bill but the protection does not satisfy fully, anything else you can recommend?

        • It depends on what you like. If protection is something that you’re concerned with, something like the Nike Tiempo Legend 5 with it’s padded leather upper might be something to check out, or even the Nitrocharge 1.0 from Adidas.

  2. Boots with roomy toebox?

  3. Is there much dfference in feel between the evopower 1.2 ans the evopower 1?

  4. Do you think these are a significant improvement from the evopower 1’s? Im interested in buying a pair, do u think its worth buying the 1.2’s or saving money and buying the 1’s?

    • I wouldn’t call them a significant improvement, but I do like what they’ve done with it. Until I get more playing time in them, I can’t comment too much on the performance.

  5. Josh..

will u do PLAY TEST .. please .. super please?

  6. Great reviews, Josh. I have a foot that may be a little wider than average, but not really wide. I currently wear Predator LZ1’s and like them ok (but not GREAT). Which do you prefer/recommend between these two — the evopower 1.2 or the Predator Instinct?

    • I don’t have enough time in the evoPOWER 1.2 to make that call just yet. The Instincts will be something along the lines of what you’re used to when it comes to feel, while the evoPOWERs will feel drastically different.

  7. @rueben get some of the leather adizeros or nitrocharges. The soleplate is stiff as can be
